Paraformaldehyde is an essentially solid form of formaldehyde. The compound is reacted with urea, melamine, phenol or resorcinol to generate resins that is used as binders in particle board and plywood.

Paraformaldehyde Powder is extensively used for manufacturing resins such as phenol, vinylon, polycetal, diphenyl methane disocynate, terephthalic acid, melamine and acrylic acid esters.

Paraformaldehyde Chemical is the smallest polyoxymethelyne with a typical degree of 8-10 units of polymerization. Longer length polyoxymethyne, also known as polyoxymethylene plastic is used as thermoplastic.

Paraformaldehyde is also used in resin production and provides two major advantages as compared with aqueous formaldehyde :
  • More production from existing equipment
  • Less water (typically twenty fold less) to be removed from the reactor product.
